Normalcy still eludes me...

When I woke up this morning there was water all the way up to the bottom of our bed. I thought I was dreaming. We lost everything,all of our new furniture is ruined,pictures,my brand new computer,my boyfriend lost all of his new and old gaming systems and his book collection,and all of our personal things,cards that people we loved that are gone had given us,a coat that had belonged to someone close to him that passed away. Today is a horrible day.There were electrical currents in the house and we barely made it out,it's pretty bad. Our neighbors lost everything too and they have two very small children and a 12 year old boy that lost everything.They rent their home,so please keep them in your prayers and thoughts.

This song has always reminded me of my father and especially my relationship with him and what's currently going on in my life and just the whole growing up and facing responsibility that you don't have the luxury of not being ready for.They can't protect us forever and live life for us,there comes a point when being young and carefree is no longer an option and we can't run from being a grown up anymore.That time is just about to crash on top of me like a tidal wave. (And I'm scared).
